MIKA @ CASTELLO SFORZESCO VIGEVANO, ITALY

Nel 2009 il suo secondo album: "The Boy Who Knew Too Much", altro grande successo con la canzone "We Are Golden".

It was the spring of 2007 when Mika debuted in Italy with his first album Life in Cartoon. It was love at first sight: his songs, his preppy look with the air of a good boy, intriguing and “cartoonish” and his extra special eccentricity. It seemed as though he had come out of a cartoon.
His “colourful” album aroused an incredible success, reaching the British number one chart position: "Love Today" and "Relax, Take It Easy", his best songs, aswell as my favourite ones :-) (it’s probably also because they remind me of those magical moments with a big bump, pregnant with my Ludo!)
In 2009 his second album: "The Boy Who Knew Too Much", and another big hit with the song "We Are Golden". World tours and guest appearances everywhere, Mika by now was an icon (he was also a protagonist for Paul Smith’s advertising campaigns).
On the 21st of April 2012, in occassion of his first Italian concert, Mika achieved a well-deserved sold out at the Mediolanum Forum in Milano. I still remember the feeling of seeing him live, to be able to live his music to the full, and the magic of interpreting his every single track. It was all colourful, an unforgettable show, a scenography which I’ll never forget. Mika: a true cyclone of pop and rock&dance.
For a while nothing more was heard of him, but I knew that sooner or later he’d reappear and that he’d shock us all :-) Infact, it was exactly that. On the 24th of June at the 10 Giorni Suonati festival (third edition of the festival created by Barley Arts Promotion), Mika debuted at the Sforzesco Castle in Vigevano. And who was expecting such a thing? His only Italian show, just a few km from Pavia.
It goes without a doubt how emotional and happy I was to re-see him, because this time we really were a few steps from him. Always exceptionally perfect in his trendy and elegant look, like a real fashion icon: white shirt, braces, skinny trousers, white converse and Hugo Boss boxers (a fundamental detail which should not be overlooked). Once again the great scenography, just like the Forum was replicated, and the confetti, balloons and his magical and fun extravaganza didn’t go amiss. Time flew by, and after singing his “hot” pieces, Mika said goodbye by singing his wonderful new song "The Origin of Love" (title of his next album). We’ll have to wait for 2013 to discover Mika’s new world…..
